Mike Hanopol (born 1946) is a Messianic Rabbi as well as a Filipino rock singer and guitarist. 

He was a former member of the Juan de la Cruz Band's bass section. 

Along with Pepe Smith and Wally Gonzales, he was a pioneer of rock music in the Philippines in the 1970s.

Hanopol released twenty albums during his career as a musician, three of which won Gold awards and three of which won Aliw Awards. 

The beret, leather clothes, and his Steinberger guitar are Hanopol's trademarks. 

He served as Hagibis' tutor and songwriter.

Despite his rock-and-roll popularity, Hanopol's seminary background encouraged him to write song lyrics based on Bible verses.

Hanopol married Herminia in 1973, and they had a daughter named Michelle, whom he actually referred to as "Yummy." Hanopol is a Messianic Rabbi who converted to Messianic Judaism after discovering his Russian- Jewish ancestry in New York.

Mike Hanopol was diagnosed with COVID 19 last June 10 and is presently recovering, with no plans to return to music after his recovery.

Hanopol, who is currently confined in a San Mateo Rizal hospital, took time to express his gratitude to those who assisted him during his health crisis.

After rehearsing in a Sta.Rosa, Laguna studio for his forth coming July gig in Zambales, the OPM legend initially felt COVID-19 symptoms on May 29.

His oxygen level dropped from 89 to 72 in the days after he had a fever and coughed. 

He tested positive for COVID-19 on June 8. 

Last June 9, an ambulance transported him from his home in Tanauan, Batangas, to the nearest hospital that could treat him and another buddy, which was more than 80 kilometers away in San Mateo, Rizal.

According to doctors, his full recovery will take another two weeks.

Meanwhile, Hanopol's friends and coworkers have launched a variety of fundraisers to assist him pay for his rising medical bills, including an online fundraiser.
