Is Andrea Meza, Miss Universe 2020, married?

Within hours of Mexican contestant Andrea Meza being crowned Miss Universe 2020, people on social media speculated that the 26-year-old beauty queen was married.

Andrea's pictures, in which she can be seen wearing a bridal suit with the supposed "groom" of the Mexican beauty queen, are now circulating on social media.

Jorge Saenz, a Mexican model, is Andrea's partner in the shot.

Some netizens and pageant fans have pointed to this "wedding picture" as the reason for Andrea's removal from the Miss Universe title.

Andrea and Jorge's supposed "wedding snap" was shared on Jorge's Instagram account.

Jorge's seemingly romantic letter to Andrea is written in Spanish in the caption.

The following is Jorge's complete caption, which has been translated into English:

"I am infinitely grateful to God for giving me the opportunity to meet you this time and cross our path.

"Today begins a new stage of our lives and I am sure that sharing everything by your side will make me the happiest person in the world."

After the messages from vital netizens flooded in, the @missuniverse Instagram page tagged the comments portion of Jorge's post.

Andrea also posted the supposed "wedding snap" of her and Jorge on her Instagram account, according to our source.

The video shot is from a different perspective, but they are in the same location and wearing the same clothing.

Andrea's caption does not specify whether she and Jorge are really married.

The only date mentioned in the caption is "3-09-19," which is accompanied by an emoji of a bell.

Andrea's Miss World 2017 classmate Laura Lehman has left a congratulatory message in the comments section of Andrea's entry, which is noteworthy.

However, our researchers discovered that these "wedding pictures" are for the 2020 tourist promotion of Andrea's birthplace, Chihuahua, Mexico.

According to Mexican filmmaker Daniel Hawk, this is the case.

Andrea was unveiled as the new ambassador of the city on the official Instagram page of Chihuahua, Mexico Tourism earlier this month, on May 17, 2021.

"We are very proud of how much @andreamezamx, our tourist ambassador who will participate in @missuniverse today, is without a doubt a brilliant example of Chihuahua reaching far," the caption reads in English.

If Andrea is dethroned or unable to continue her reign as Miss Universe due to a sufficient and legal cause, first runner-up Julia Gama of Brazil will take her place.

Jorge also explained the photographs in his Instagram Stories, stating that they were taken during a tourism campaign shoot.

Jorge has made an appeal in response to the derogatory comments and attacks he got as a result of the images.

He said: "People, my photo with @andreamezamx is just a shooting for @ahchihuahua"

Please stop with your messages and threats, that photo is from 2019 and it is not edited. IT WAS JUST A JOKE.
