Barred from returning home:Miss Grand Myanmar Han Lay and Miss Universe Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin.

Miss Grand Myanmar Han Lay felt sadness and longing when Miss Grand Philippines Samantha Bernardo returned to the Philippines last week.

The two beauty queens became best friends during their nearly four -month stay in Bangkok, Thailand.

Han expressed how he feels for Samantha through his Instagram post.

The Burmese Queen captioned,“You are the very best friend for me. I will keep all of our memories along my life.

"We eat together, laugh together, sleep together, encourage each other and you always encourage and give energy for me in every single time Sam.

"I love you so much and you are the best for me forever."

Han was not fortunate enough to return to his country because, like Miss Universe Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin , the Myanmar military junta issued a warrant of arrest against him.

Han was unable to return to Myanmar because, like Miss Universe Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin, the Myanmar military Junta had issued an arrest order for her.

Han represented Myanmar in the 8th Miss Grand International, which was held in Bangkok last March 27, 2021.

Han was seized on charges that she employed the Miss Grand International coronation night platform to warn the world about the military's atrocities and abuses in Myanmar since the coup d'etat was successful on February 1, 2021.

“Today in my country Myanmar, there are so many people dying. Please help Myanmar. We need your urgent international help right now.

"I will continue to be the voice of the people of Myanmar as I consider this my responsibility.

"I will use the international platform as well as social media to reach out to the international community," part of Han's pageant speech followed by the singing of "Heal The World."

This did not sit well with Myanmar's military leadership.

Apart from the arrest warrant, Han is facing threats to his life, so it's unclear when he'll be able to return to Myanmar.

But the Burmese beauty queen showed no fear, continuing to utilize social media to inform the world about the brutality in her nation.

Since her arrival in Bangkok from Myanmar, Han has been cared after by the Miss Grand International Organization.

Even though he was far from home, Han was eager to speak out against his countrymen's military atrocities because she believed this was the best way to assist.

Han stated her life is still endangered on social media in an interview with Korean Broadcasting System News (KBS) on May 15, 2021.

Han also stated that her family relocated to a different part of Myanmar for their protection, but that her mother did not prevent her from speaking out against the military government.

“My mom moved to another place. She told me to keep going. 'If you think this is the right thing, keep going, I will support you and never give up. I will be beside you always,'” sabi ni Han sa interbyu sa kanya ng KBS News.

Han claims that 770 of her countrymen had perished in the battle for democracy. The figure is thought to be incomplete since many more people paid their life who aren't recognized on the official list.

FUGITIVE BEAUTY QUEENS

Miss Universe Myanmar Thuzar Wint Lwin, a fugitive like Han, left Myanmar to compete in the 69th Miss Universe pageant.

She employed this platform to make the world aware of Myanmar's military misdeeds.

Thuzar won Miss Universe's Best in National Costume category for her "Pray for Myanmar" costume.

This has fueled calls to assist Myanmar's people in regaining their long-awaited democracy.

The military junta also has an arrest warrant for Thuzar so she cannot return to her country yet.

Thuzar has a sister who is a famous singer-actress in Myanmar, 30-year-old May Thu Aung who is in hiding because the military junta is also arresting her.

May was among the artists in Manila who openly condemned the coup d’etat and joined We Want Justice, the three-finger salute movement launched on social media.

An arrest warrant was issued against May on April 4, 2021 for her speech against the military coup that allegedly violated Section 505 of the State Administration Council's penal code.

PAING TAKHON

Paing Takhon, a 24-year-old Burmese model and member of the three-finger salute movement, was unfortunate.

On April 8, 2021, Paing was apprehended by the military at his parents' home.

Since then, there has been no word about the actor, who is also well-known in other Southeast Asian nations.

Paing's family is very worried because he had malaria and a heart condition the day he was arrested by the military.

Paing's social media accounts have been deactivated because the military junta monitors all posts, phone calls, and every move by Burmese celebrities suspected of supporting the anti-coup movement.
