Julia Barreto Joined the Coast Guard!
Julia Barreto, 24, born with a silver spoon in the mouth, decided to volunteer and be a public servant just as her 32-year-old significant other, Auxiliary Lieutenant Commander Gerald Anderson of the PCGA k9 Squadron. He was also present at the event to witness the ceremony.
Yesterday, September 1, 2021, Auxiliary Ensign Julia Barreto was welcomed by the Philippine Coast Guard (PGC) in the PCG Auxiliary K9 Squadron.
The doning and oath-taking ceremony was held at the National Headquarters, Port Area, Manila; and led by PGC Commandant, CG Admiral George V Ursabia Jr. Auxiliary Ensign Julia Barreto was acknowledged along with Auxiliarist Ando Cruise Catipay, Auxiliarist Jalil Liadan, and Auxiliarist Harold Jocel Talan.
A message of gratitude was delivered by CG Admiral Ursabia as a manifestation of passion and philanthropy to all the new members in extending their hands to serve the nation by partaking in the humanitarian missions and disaster response operation of the Coast Guard.
In addition, the Coast Guard Commandant stressed the rising exigency for K9 units in fostering national security.
Moreover, it is ensured to embody high caliber and efficient K9 units in varied government agencies nationally as the PGC-PPA K9 Academy is now under construction in Clark Pampanga.
Meanwhile, Auxiliary Ensign, as the senior delegate, had the opportunity to give a speech and represent her comrades. The actress lauded the PCGA K9 Squadron and the whole PGC for the warm welcome in the area of public service. Also, she vowed to always be an active member in bringing aid to her fellow Filipino countrymen.
