Former actress who is considered one of the most beautiful faces in Philippine industry had a rare public appearance in America.
Hilda Koronel is a Filipino actress. She is the son of an American based in Angeles City, Pampanga. Born in 1955 and first starred in the film Haydee in which she co -starred with Ed Finlan.
Award-winning actress Hilda Koronel was thirteen years old when she began her acting career in Santiago, the Lea Productions film starring King of Philippine Movies Fernando Poe Jr.
Santiago was released in theaters on November 13, 1970.
The following year, 1971, Hilda won best supporting actress at the 19th FAMAS Awards. She beat veteran actresses Katy dela Cruz, Caridad Sanchez, and Linda Martin.
Since then, Hilda's films have followed suit, increased her acting awards, become the favorite actress of veteran director Lino Brocka, and been recognized as one of the best faces in the Philippine entertainment industry. Hilda’s films directed by Brocka include Santiago, Stardoom, Gold Plated, Insiang, Manila: On the Nails of Light, Animal to Animal, PX, and Angela Markado.
According to U.S.-based Filipino talent manager Oliver Carnay, Hilda plans to have a special screening of Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising in 2020 to commemorate the 50th anniversary of her acting career. But this did not happen because of the coronavirus pandemic. Kung Mangarap Ka’t Magising is a 1977 film by Hilda and Christopher de Leon directed by Mike de Leon, and the official entry of LVN Films in the 3rd Metro Manila Film Festival.
