What is the reason for Daniel Padilla's lack of social media activity?
Daniel Padilla's appearance on Boy Abunda's YouTube channel's The Purple Chair Interview trended on Twitter Philippines on Thursday night, July 29.
Daniel's responsible social media user status emerged because of his statement that he is not in favor of the way others use various social media platforms.
The actor said, "I post sa Instagram just to update them [fans].
"Minsan napapatagal, pero I post siyempre. Nakakahiya rin naman sa kanila dahil cannot be found na naman ako.
"Pero, like, kung yung mga ginagawa ng iba?"
Daniel also cited his girlfriend Kathryn Bernardo as an example of someone who is "extremely natural" on social media.
"Si Kathryn ang pinakamagandang example, kung paano siya magtrabaho, the ethics ng... natural na natural.
"Sa akin, it's not natural. Hindi ko kaya, nahihirapan ako. Pero sa iba ko na lang siya ginagawa.
"Yung mga streaming, hindi ko talaga kaya" he explained.
On the other hand, the 26-year-old actor chastised the weird world of today's amateur artists, who are reliant on social media and whose life appear to revolve around it.
"Ayokong maging negative person. Sana lang maging responsible tayo.
"Like, sa likes, sinabi 'yan ni Kobe Paras, ang galing ni Kobe Paras... Sinabi niya na sana sa Instagram o anumang social media platforms, sana alisin na yung bilang ng likes.
"Pangalawa, the counts of your followers.
"Kapag inalis mo kasi 'yon, magbabago rin ang tema ng lahat. Mag-iiba. Pero hindi na ito kumpitensiya ng...
"The problem is in the industry, kailangan nila yung mga numero na 'yon. Ang hirap ibalanse," Daniel's point of view on the influence of social media on people's lives and lifestyles.
Meanwhile, Daniel said that his next project with Kathryn will be a TV series, and the two will discuss their new film together.
Daniel also mentioned his film with Charo Santos-Concio, Kun Maupay Man It Panahon (Whether the Weather is Fine). This is the Philippines' official entry in Switzerland's 74th Locarno Film Festival which will take place from August 1 to August 14, 2021.
