LOOK: Meet Olympic Gold Medalist Hidilyn Diaz's "Hot" Boyfriend And Coach

Apart from being one of those who have honored our country, Hidilyn Diaz, a female weightlifter, is now regarded as a celebrity after winning a silver medal in the Olympics.

Many people, like other celebrities, are curious about her personal life and some details about her. One of these is the public's fascination with her love life.

Hidilyn and her Filipino-Japanese Guamanian lover Julius Naranjo have appeared on a number of television shows and have been featured in a number of newspapers and websites.

Julius is also a weightlifter who has competed on a national and international level. In 2017, they met Hidilyn at a weightlifting competition.

Julius, however, had a career-ending back ailment, forcing him to retire from the competition early.

Hidilyn was fully equipped for the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, which were postponed until July 2021, according to a report. That's why, while locked down in Malaysia last year, she spent hours with him for training.

She was escorted to her strength training camp by her boyfriend Julius and her conditioning coach.

Hidilyn was questioned in a March interview if her boyfriend's job as a coach was challenging for him.

She was extremely fortunate in that her boyfriend also happened to be her coach. However, she is aware that it is challenging for her partner because she claims that teaching great athletes, such as herself, is difficult.

"Actually, we don't want to talk like that. I'm lucky that my coach is also my boyfriend. But it's also difficult. For his part, it's difficult to teach the elite athlete, especially me. I'm not just listening, I'm questioning everyone and I don't just follow," Hidilyn said.

She added, "Pero as a coach, kailangan we have to prove na magaling ka. Kasi elite athlete ako eh... Pero right now, swerte ako na magaling yung coach ko, magaling siya. At magaling din yung image na pinapalakas nila ako.So kung kumusta ako, swerte ako na nandito sila, na nandito din yung coach ko, na nandito siya, si coach Julius. Nung time na ayoko na, ayoko na.. Syempre nasa pand3mic tayo. May mga time na ayaw ko na, nandyan sila para i-lift ako.

Weightlifter Hidilyn Diaz made history Monday becoming the first athlete from the Philippines to win gold at the Olympics.

In Tokyo, the 30-year-old set an Olympic record by lifting a total weight of 224 kilograms to win the women's 55-kg class.
