A well-known comedian-host has passed away after a few months of fighting for his life.
Stand-up comedian Hans Mortel passed away, July 14.
He is the source of grievances and comments from the audience of the show which is called "sawsawero't sawsawera."
Hans 'brother announced its passing via Facebook.
Hans spent three months in the hospital, according to Jean Mortel Chupungco, battling an undisclosed ailment.
But the medication was no longer working for him.
Jean's message: *"Gone too soon! You fought a hard battle. Thank you for giving it your all.*
*"I know you tried so hard for us. It's ok, you fought for 3 months. We fought the battle with you.*
*"And now you can rest in peace. I will be comforted by the thought that you're with Papa and Mama Azon now.*
*"And you're face to face with our Lord. It hurts so bad, to let you go, but you deserve to rest. Know that we love you and we always will." *
Chupungco didn't say what caused Mortel, but he was hospitalized "due to pneumonia in an immunocompromised state"
Mortel stated on his Facebook page in April that he was negative for COVID-19, but that he was suffering from other ailments, including a growing tumor on his neck and something hurting his renal system.
His most recent Facebook photo revealed his hands, which were infused with IVs.
Mortel was a stand-up comedian who performed at the Laffline comedy club on a regular basis. He's also recognized for co-hosting TV5's Face to Face with Amy Perez talk show. From 2010 through 2013, the show aired.
Prior to Mortel's death, Chupungco set up a Facebook campaign for her brother. She claimed that he was being rushed to the hospital for the second time and that he was in a critical situation. Mortel's hospitalization cost P30,000 per day, and their medical bill as of July 2 was above P600,000\. Her family then appealed to the public for donations.

Hans' former TV5 coworker also expressed sympathy on Twitter.
