Claudine Barretto defended Julia even though she was still upset with her niece.
Claudine Barretto has not disputed that she is enraged by her niece Julia Barretto, but there is no excuse for the 41-year-old actress to not stand up for her niece in the scandals that surround her.
"Nega nga ang mga nasusulat para sa pamangkin ko, pero at the end of the day, pamangkin ko pa rin yun, e.
"Hindi ako naniniwala na babagsak. Kasi sa akin, nangyari na ‘yan, ilang beses na, lalo na yung rebellious days ko, pero hindi siya bumagsak.
"Si Julia, naging nega lang siya, and we just need a real good project for her because alam ko dugong Barretto ‘yan. Magaling ‘yan.
"At saka may dugong Dennis Padilla ‘yan, magaling din,"Claudine defended her equally controversial niece in the first press conference of the movie Deception yesterday, June 7.
Marjorie Barretto, Claudine's sister, has a daughter named Julia.
In October 2019, Claudine and Marjorie got into an argument at their father Miguel Barretto's grave. Julia was also implicated in the trouble, and the two were still in agony.
Rosa is Claudine's name in Deception, and she is a well-known and multi-award-winning actress who has been imprisoned for the murder of her stuntman-turned-actor husband, played by her ex-boyfriend Mark Anthony Fernandez.
When Rose was released from prison, she and Ethan stumbled upon a woman who looked eerily similar to the wife she had murdered.
The tale of deception is recounted here.
"Yung movie is close to home. It really hits close to home because napagdaanan ko talaga first hand.
"There are some scenes in the movie na totoo talaga na close to home talaga.
"Ang hindi lang nangyari, yung part na murder, pero deception has always been a part of my life.
"It’s always been done to me in so many ways," Claudine's intriguing revelation.
