Coleen Garcia suffers postpartum anxiety after giving birth to her first child.
Actress Coleen Garcia opens up about her first months as a first-time mother for the first time.
After giving birth to their first child, Baby Amari, eight months ago, Billy Crawford's wife, Coleen admitted to having "postpartum anxiety."
In Coleen's vlog released for the Mother's Day celebration, she did not experience postpartum depression, but she did have "postpartum anxiety".
“I wouldn't call it postpartum depression,” she says.
"However, there is something about which no one has ever spoken to me."
“And it wasn't until someone mentioned it in one of my mom groups that I knew what it was.
And this was a long time after I had given birth, which is postpartum anxiety, ” the actress began sharing
The celebrity mom added, “Before I ever gave birth and got pregnant, I already had anxiety. I would say I had a pretty chill pregnancy, so I stopped thinking about things that worried me.
“But it’s different when the baby is really there and I am a worrywart. So that has been my struggle. My mind takes me to places that are no longer really normal, honestly."
“And I would just get so nervous, so stressed, so anxious over nothing, and it would get me so drained, physically drained, because when you’re mentally drained, you become physically drained as well," she added
“And I’d be tired almost every day just because my mind was racing. As much as I think it seems so impossible to happen."
“My mind just comes up with different scenarios that you can actually say are really praning. But ‘yun eh. That’s what I was struggling with, ”Coleen continued.
Billy's wife also stressed that she has now proven that "postpartum depression and anxiety are very real".
“And I'm happy that people nowadays understand it, that people speak about it, and that people don't criticize those who are going through it,” Coleen added.
"It's really so natural," she reminded the crowd, "and there's nothing wrong with you if you're going through this."
